New bus between west Cork and Cork city

A new bus service between west Cork (Skibbereen) and Cork City (St Patrick's Quay) will operate from 24 February 2020.

Bus company

The service is called West Cork Connect, and is run by Skibbereen-based Dave Long Coach Travel.

Times

This is a seven days a week service, and initially has three buses per day on weekdays, and two per day at weekends.    Total journey time is 1:40  (one hour and 40 minutes).

The company also plans to offer late-night buses for concerts and special events.

Fares

The company aims to offer fares that are 40% cheaper than Bus Éireann.

Tickets can be purchased on the bus (cash, debit and credit cards are accepted), and Free Travel passes are accepted.

On-line booking is now available on their website, and they promise that seats are guaranteed when booked on-line.
